ZOË IRVINE

company movement artist

Zoё Irvine is a circus artist and educator specializing in aerial performance. Zoë’s background in dance, theater, and music led her to venture into circus arts in 2011. Her training brought her to Montréal, Canada and to École Léotard where she worked extensively under the tutelage of renowned coach and former Cirque du Soleil performer, Rachel Walker. She performed her static trapeze and dance trapeze acts at multiple festivals including the Denver Aerial Acrobatic Arts Festival, Montréal Complètement Cirque, Circus Star, and VIVA Fest.
From 2016-2019 she was a company member of the award-winning aerial dance troupe, Astraeus Aerial Dance Theatre, recipient of San Diego International Airport’s 2018 Performing Arts Residency. As a freelance performer, Zoë has worked for a variety of companies and events including the San Diego Symphony, Sony, JAM Cellars, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, Cirque du Soleil, La Jolla Concours D’Elegance, and many more.
Zoë is committed to advancing circus arts and performing arts in the community. She has served on the board of directors for the Circus Collective of San Diego and volunteered for the national non-profit Circus Now as a member of the Women & Circus Team. Currently, she is a performer and coach for Fern Street Circus, a non-profit dedicated to bringing circus arts and education to San Diego’s families and neighborhoods. Prior to her circus career, Zoë received her Bachelor of Arts in History of Art from Haverford College, and a Master’s degree from San Diego State University in Cognitive Psychology.
